Truman
State Career Expo
Letter to Employers
Dear Career Expo Participant,
We hope you are looking forward to attending Career Expo on October 22nd, 2008.
We have been working very hard to make sure that our job fair is the best
one you attend all year. It is important that you confirm your attendance to
the Expo by emailing us at pollym@truman.edu.
The following items will assist you in preparing to attend Expo:
1. Where to unload your materials and where to park.
2. Schedule of Expo events.
3. Information about the Expo Reception.
4. Information about the interview Day.
5. General Expo information.
1. Unloading and Parking
Before going to the parking lot, please pull in at
the curb in front of the Student Union to unload your materials.
Several parking spaces on Franklin Street will be blocked so that you may
stop here briefly to unload your display materials. We will have
students available to carry your boxes and displays into the building.
In order to avoid a backlog of traffic there, please do not come into the
building to register at this point. Make sure your materials are
marked clearly with your name and your company’s name. The student
volunteers will bring your materials to your table for you while you park
your car. After unloading, proceed to one of the parking lots
mentioned below. From there you will be shuttled in a university van
to the Student Union. Once you reach the Union in the van, you may
proceed to the Recruiter Registration Table on the second floor of the
Student Union. If you have questions about the parking procedure,
please call.
You may park either in the University’s Lot on Patterson
Street or in the lot on the corner of
Franklin and Patterson. Both lots are
marked on the attached map. If both of these lots are full when you
arrive, please proceed to Stokes Stadium lot, also marked on the attached map.

The building will be opened at 7:00 a.m. Interviews will start at 8:00 and lunch will be served from 12:00-1:00. The last interview should be completed by 5:00. Resumes will be referred to you through eRecruiting. You are required to log into eRecruiting and post your position(s). To do this visit
www.erecruitingnetwork.com and use
your login information. If you do not have a login ID, call
Polly Matteson at 660-785-4353.
Once your position is in eRecruiting, we can set up a 15 minute, 30 minute or hour-long interview schedule for you.
Please email us your preference, including how many schedules you

On the application deadline, which will be February 20th at midnight, eRecruiting will email the resumes of the applicants to you to prescreen. When you have your list of students you will need to return to eRecruiting and in the Applicant Section, select those who you wish to interview. Your selection must be made by

4. General Expo information:
We ask your assistance in fielding questions from students. We
encourage all students to talk to all employers, regardless of the major the
student has and regardless of the major(s) you may be recruiting for
specifically on the day of the job fair. We hope that you will answer
questions that the students may ask regarding positions in your company for
their field of interest and geographic preference, provide them with the
name(s) of the appropriate person for them to contact for positions they may
be interested in, and that you will forward the students’ resumes to the
appropriate persons in your organization if asked to do so. Many
students with liberal arts majors are interested in your organization and
have the skills and qualities your organization seeks. Please assist
them as best you can.
We also ask that you remain at Career Expo until 5 p.m. The job
fair hours have been set from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. so that all students will
have the opportunity to speak with you at Career Expo. While we
understand that makes a long day for you, we want everyone to have a chance
to speak with you.
Thank you,
Lesa Ketterlinus, Director
