Communication Internship

The Communication Intern is responsible for planning and executing many of the great Career Center Events like Graduate School Week,
the haunted house and Expo 411. The intern will also gain incredible communication and leadership skills as the manager of the in-house
Design and Public Relations Team. The intern will facilitate the implementation and execution of all the Career Center’s advertising with
the goal of increasing students’ knowledge and use of our services. Additionally, the intern will be charged with the writing, editing and
distribution of the Career Finder, the Career Center’s newsletter, under the auspices of a full-time staff member.
Qualifications
- Preference will be given to juniors/seniors interested in pursuing a career in written communication, event planning and/or public relations.
- Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Experience with event planning and knowledge of effective advertising and public relations methods preferred.
- Minimum G.P.A. of 3.0/4.0 is required.
Work Hours
Communication Intern will be working 10-15 hours per week as well as attending paid training days.

Compensation
- The internships the Career Center offers are unpaid. However, the interns will receive a stipend of $400-$800 stipend per semester, depending on scholarship requirement.
- Academic credit is also available for both internships.

session in which candidate will be given more information about
working at the Career Center.

- Completed Application
- Cover Letter
- Résumé
- Three professional references (professors, supervisors, etc.)
- Portfolio Samples including writing samples and other
artifacts of previous work
