When Jan travels, she goes to a wide variety of  businesses, indicating interest on behalf of Truman students.  She builds connections with these businesses and the appropriate individuals, which benefits Truman students who need help connecting to possible job opportunities.  Many times these businesses will then come to our Career Expo to connect with students one-on-one, and also to express their genuine interest in Truman students.

Sheraton Hotels

  • Sheraton Hotels is the largest brand of Starwood Hotels.  In Overland Park, the hotel is offering to hire interns.  If you are interested in interning at this hotel, you must talk to Jan.

  • If you want to build your career in the hotel industry, don't be disappointed if you work at the front desk; everyone who wants to work in the hotel industry must start at the front desk (as told by the Director of Human Resources in Overland Park).

  • It is always a good idea to talk to Jan about pursuing a job or internship at places she has visited.  She has names and numbers of people she has personally visited with.
