The Washington Center-Internships in Washington, DC
The Washington Center (TWC) offers internships in the Washington, DC, area in many different fields. For examples of placements and information about program structure, please see TWC's website: http://www.twc.edu/about/index.htm
Credit
Truman State University has a special program through which students may apply for an internship through TWC and, if selected, spend the spring interning in Washington, DC. Interns receive 15 credit hours (9 credits for internship, 3 for TWC coursework, and 3 for independent study with a TSU faculty member).
Eligibility
Selective. Application open to all majors; must have a 3.25 GPA. Spring semester only.
Fees
Students pay Truman tuition plus a fee to cover the difference between TWC fees and TSU tuition and housing costs. Financial assistance and scholarships are available.
How to Apply
The internships are competitive; at the moment, Truman sponsors five students to go each spring. Students are selected through application and interview on campus. Accepted students are notified by May of the year prior to the internship.
